So we did it. Spent some marvelous days in Istanbul. Got to know the non-tourist Istanbul too. Got some bad experience with noise, street merchants and stuff. But in the end this was good. Istanbul still remains a favourite of mine.

Almost one month after that I manage to show up and share some words about the trip.

It was actually pretty good. 750 km driving during the night (very tiring) and we were there. Bursa is a big city with nice climate and no driver control. I mean – come one, I now think Romanian drivers are civilized. In Turkey there’s no such thing as driver culture – you just honk once and make a maneuver: no matter what it is. The whole city was just sounds of honks.

But the city itself is great. The mountain Uludag is nearby, the sea of Marmara is nearby, so they actually have it all . Perfect surroundings.

For the four days there I saw the sea of Marmara, parts of Uludag, Nicaea (or now known as Iznik), the Bursa museum (which is pretty nice, shows many parts of history from ancient times to modern ones), etc, etc…. And the celebrations for the Turkey national holidays – their Independence day or the day Turkey became a republic.

Some pictures can be found on Picasa
